Gary Fisher
My artistic interest in atmospheric phenomena began in the 1970s where I made several mixed-media pieces combining photography, wood, metal, and acrylic. Since then I have created a large body of photographic studies of clouds using panoramic and 3-D photography.
My recent cloud inspired pieces include abstract painted skyscapes, multimedia cloud displays, cloud simulations utilizing micro-controller driven mists, a foldable origami cloud display, mixed media pieces incorporating cloud photography, beading neon and optics, and a series of dye diffusion photographs entitled "Temporal Shift."

Abstract Skyscape Paintings
Through 2019 I completed 40 abstract skyscapes painted in acrylic and aerosol media on flat, concave and convex acrylic and aluminum panels.Below are a few examples of this work.
None of these are taken from photographs nor represent actual cloud phenomena. My intent is to represent the ethereal nature of the sky and express its emotional impact free from context. These paintings are purposely matte and without texture, thus enhancing the illusion of the sky and clouds as one approaches the paintings.
